April Small Goals

Happy April!

April is my favorite month every year because not only is it my birthday month, but it’s practically my whole family’s birthday month (sister, brother, Grandpa and me!) April has so many fun things like Easter, birthday parties, spring weather and the start to outdoor yard projects. Shane and I have been waiting for warmer weather to start many projects on our home and now that it’s so close we’re itching to get started.

I started posting small goals here last month and hopefully having goals listed publicly will help motivate me to actually do them!

Review of last month’s goals:

Hire my cousin-in-law to take pictures for the blog – Success! This is scheduled to happen next week and I’m very excited/nervous about it.

Call my Sister – fail. Sometimes the time difference between us stops me from calling and sometimes I’m too lazy which is no excuse! Keeping this as a goal for April.

Go to the gym once a week – fail. No excuses for this one, but I did just buy some yoga classes and started going so maybe I should just do the workouts I like doing instead of the ones I think I “should” be doing.

Finish 2017 Photo Album – fail. I have an excuse for this one, and I think it’s just not that important to me so I’ll postpone this for now. I got a new phone and switched from iPhone to Android which means I have to re-download all my apps and the Project life app information doesn’t transfer between iPhone and Android. Most likely I will pick up this goal again sometime in the fail when I’m indoors more.

Take a video of me interviewing my Grandparents – fail. I failed but this is important enough to me that I’m keeping it as a goal for April.

1/5 – I either need to have more realistic goals or be more focused on them. I’m adding a post-it note with April’s goals on my work monitor so I can be reminded  all day what I want to focus on this month.

April Goals:

Call My Sister

My sister is turning 24 this month and while I can’t celebrate with her in person, I will at least get to call 🙂

Take a video of me interviewing my Grandparents

I am compiling a list of questions I want to ask my Grandparents and it’s harder than I thought it would be. Now I’m thinking instead of trying to get everything in one interview, maybe I should do an interview series so if I forget something I can just ask it in the next video.

Post 14 times this month

I have a list of what I want to post, and now I just have to actually write them out and post!

Spend Quality time with Family

I have some family coming into town for a funeral next week and I want to be fully present and spend as much time with family as I can.

Track as many metrics as I can while staying sane

I am tracking my food with myfitnesspal, tracking my BBT with an app and a journal along with my weight/mood and anything else I can keep track of. I’m not unwell but I’m not well and I want to have hard data to use to fight against the doctor until I find a doctor that will fight for me. I want a doctor that will help me find the cause instead of just throwing pills at the symptoms – so if you have a recommendation for endocrinologists in GR please let me know!
