Writes like a Girl writes “Small Goals” every month and I love the idea of having monthly realistic goals to accomplish. Every month she has 5 goals that are achievable in the next month and I want to join in on the fun!
One: Hire my cousin-in-law to take pictures for the blog
I am so scared what people will think of me blogging and it feels selfish/narcissistic to spend money on pictures of myself. I never think other bloggers are narcissistic when they post on their blogs, so why do I think this of myself? I don’t have a good answer, so I’m just going to ignore those feelings and post anyways!
Two: Call my Sister – on the actual phone – and talk to her at least once
I am so bad about keeping in touch with my sister, or anyone for that matter, and I don’t like it. I want to be better at this so here is what should be the easiest goal to keep but somehow I keep putting it off. I love my sister and I want more than just the snaps back and forth so here it is; an actual goal I’m putting on the internet so maybe I’ll keep it 🙂
Three: Go to the gym once a week
I’m running with my mom in the Laughfest Funderwear Run (it’s only 0.6 miles long this year) and 5k Gazelle Girl race so I need to at least be running once a week to keep up with her. I can’t motivate myself to run outside when it’s snowy, but I live literally 3 miles from the gym so I have no excuses why I can’t make it there.
Four: Finish 2017 Photo Album
I love Becky Higgin’s Project Life system because it makes it so easy to get memories and pictures into a scrapbook. I just need to put the pages I already have printed into page protectors and finish a few more pages in the app and I’m all done! Even though it would only take maximum a half hour to complete the unfinished album has been sitting on my dining room table just waiting for me to work on it.
Five: Take a video of me interviewing my Grandparents
In addition to scrapbooking memories, I want to start incorporating video memory keeping. I really want to interview my Grandpas and my Grandma-in-law about things from their past before they start to forget details. First I have to get a list of questions, and figure out how to take video on my camera or how to rent a better one. I am hoping I can at least get this scheduled to happen this month and do a test interview on my husband to make sure the camera works and audio is good. I won’t make the video public besides to my family, but I will document on here how I did it and what questions I asked in case someone else wants to interview their grandparents in the same way.
