Like most of the Midwest, I’ve had a few days snowed in at home and have watched more than my fair share of television.

I’ve read many lists on things to do while watching TV, but the problem is that these people must be watching really boring shows. When I watch TV, I don’t like to take my eyes off the TV for very long and I can’t listen to anything else. I read a list that included vacuuming as something you can do while watching TV and I just assume that writer had the world’s most quiet vacuum or the world’s loudest stereo system.

  1. Fold Laundry
  2. Sort Papers
  3. Do crafts like knitting or crochet
  4. Do a craft project with repetitive tasks like sewing on sequins (A Beautiful Mess has a list of crafts that you can do while watching TV)
  5. Pull everything out of a drawer and declutter it
  6. Crunches/Push-ups/Squats You can make a game of it by following drinking games for shows (like 1 drink for every time someone on the Bachelor says, “Can I steal him for a second”) but just replacing the drinking with exercises
  7. Write Thank You Cards
  8. Brush and polish your winter or leather boots
  9. Turn up the volume and Shred papers
  10. Make a list – I always have some kind of list I could make: grocery, to-do, projects I want to complete
  11. Make a dream board/vision board – cutting up magazines and dreaming of the future is a perfect thing to do while watching TV
  12. Scrapbook pictures or organize them at least
  13. Scan in photos or scrapbook pages to digitize
  14. Scan in documents to store on computer and then shred
  15. Paint your nails/Do a face mask/Do a hair mask/other self-care beauty related task
  16. Pay your bills
  17. Do work on your computer that doesn’t require your full attention (data entry, organizing files on your computer, etc)
  18. Research on your computer: your next recipe, your next vacation, your near career
  19. Get to Inbox Zero, or answer as many emails as you can
  20. Snuggle and enjoy the down time ๐Ÿ™‚
